January:
If you have planted any trees recently, check them regularly,
especially after strong winds, to ensure they have not been lifted
out of their planting hole. Firm them in again as necessary,
and check that stakes are still firmly in the ground.
If you would like any more information, please contact me.
December:
Tidy up Forsythia bushes, but
don't leave it any later, or you will be pruning off next year's
flowering shoots.
Remove any dead or diseased branches. Anything causing
damage by crossing over & rubbing on other branches should also
be removed. The photo shows a very neglected bush which I have
just pruned. Try to thin out central branches so that the air
can circulate freely through the plant.
If you would like any more information, please contact me. |

Wednesday 6th December 2006
I was delighted to be invited by Carrickfergus FM radio to
take part in the show in December. Topics included how to
ensure Winter interest in the garden, how to purchase the best
rooted Christmas trees, Christmas flower arrangements from the
garden, and what to buy the gardener for Christmas.
Justin, the show's presenter, was even kind enough to play a
few of my favourite songs !!!

| LATEST UPDATE !!! We are about to start an exciting
new project - a large wild area which is planned to encourage
wildlife. It will include native planting, and hopefully we
shall see the return of local wildflowers. This should
encourage butterflies, birds and insects to return to the area.
Watch this space for plans, photos and regular updates on our
progress !!! And if you have any suggestions for the site, or
if you would like to advertise with us, please do not hesitate
to contact us. |

The Greenmount Garden on BBC
Television
We have designed a community garden in Cushendall for the
Greenmount Garden. It will be on television in August. To
follow our progress, click on Portfolio. |
 |
This is one of our latest projects. The site is currently very
rural and untouched. We intend to plant more native trees &
wildflowers to maintain and encourage wildlife. Hopefully the
'after' pictures will look as natural as the 'before' pictures.

portfolio page. |
