Vanessa Drew Garden Design
"When I first met my clients Shirley and David at their
beautiful new home, I knew this project would turn out to be
very impressive", says Vanessa Drew, who designed the garden
for the Islandmagee house. "They have a generously sized
garden, as can be the case when a house is situated on a corner
site. This enables the house to sit comfortably in its
surroundings. Careful use of planting softened the approach to
the house without hiding it from view".
"A garden structure, if thoughtfully positioned, becomes
an extra room. As with conservatories, a gazebo or summer house
must be positioned somewhere it will be used often. For
example, if a conservatory is built on to a rarely-used room,
it may tend to be forgotten.
"A garden must have an air of mystery. This can be
achieved, however small the site. If you can see the whole
garden from the kitchen window, why bother to leave the house?
A winding path disappearing from view will entice visitors to
discover what lies beyond. A gazebo positioned at the end of
this path will serve as a secret, tranquil hideaway.
"If you would like to transform your garden, regardless
of its size, why not give us a call and see what we can do for
you." |
